Hi Jmedstudent

Welcome to the group.

I'm in my late 30s but have had epilepsy pretty most of my life. Had a febrile seizure when I was 9 months then took tonic clonics until I was 3. I was 21 years seizure free then started having seizures again in 2002 when I was 24. When my seizures returned I was mainly taking simple/ complex partials with the odd tonic clonic. Meds alone didn't help control the seizures so I had surgery in March 2011.
I was 2 years seizure free but started having funny feelings again in 2013, after monitoring the funny feelings then doing a VEEG last year my neurologists confirmed I am having focal seizures (pretty much simple partial). They aren't affecting my life too much & definitely not like they were pre surgery.

This is a pretty cool forum so you should find it a great place to hang out.

! ! ! Welcome to CWE ! ! !

Jmedstudent,
CWE is a great site to get some help if you need it or to help others if you have the knowledge to answer a posted question!
I have had E for over 50 years and led a life that I feel was very productive.
I have always felt that having E was NOT going to keep me from doing what I wanted to do, so I have not let the E hold me back.
I graduated valedictorian of my class, went to college and then Computer Training before working in the Computer Field for many years. I am now retired but have made a resolution that I will try to help any person w/E by using my experience living w/E.
You are doing something(going to medical school) that is very important. I speak to groups about E and have seen how much more people really pay attention to me compared to someone else who is talking but does not have experience living w/E. Your having E will make you a person with more understanding and compassion for people!
I think you will be very helpful for the CWE community as well as be able to get any answers you many need to get!
