Hi,Steve here I am here for information for my daughter Missie. She has had Grand Mal Seizures for almost 2 years now. She is 20 years old and has had the following tests some more them once, CT Scans, EEG, MRI, Blood Work after every seizure etc.
Medications she's on now are Lamictal 150 MG two twice daily, Keppra 500 MG one twice daily. ( both in generic )
Before Sunday January 2nd 2011 the most seizures she would have in a single day were 2, but on Sunday she had 6 ! She was at a friends house 25-30 miles away and when they said ( over the phone ) she was having the 4th seizure I told them to call 911 by the time I got to the Hospital she had had 6 we spent the night in ICU. She had the 1st one like around 8 am and was admitted into the Hospital around 4pm, was released Monday around 5 pm. She doesn't remember Sunday or Monday morning at all.
We don't have any insurance, she doesn't have a job and that's how I found myself here, I am looking for any help / info on working from home jobs real one's not the "House wife earns $5000 a day from home ". junk / spam stuff that's out there lol. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much and nice to meet you all.

Hi Steve/mrmom, welcome to CWE!

Is there a local epilepsy support group near you? If so they might be able to point you to various resources that can help your daughter find employment opportunities, as well as ways to make medication more affordable.

Any guess as to what might have caused the recent multiple seizures? Fatigue, dehydration/low blood sugar, alcohol, hormones, and physiological stress are some of the most common triggers. If your daughter can pinpoint any of her triggers, she can potentially avoid them, and hope to prevent future seizure breakthroughs.

Best,
Nakamova
