Hello everyone,

I am 27 years old and was diagnosed with epilepsy two years ago. My first grand mal happened when I was 25. I had been experiencing localized seizures for a few months before that, but they had been misdiagnosed as anxiety attacks. I had never had a history of seizures and I have no family history of epilepsy.

I am still experiencing breakthrough grand mal seizures and I am on a current medication regimen of 1000mg of keppra and 200mg of vimpat in the morning and 750mg of keppra and 200mg of vimpat in the evening.

I look very forward to this website and to meeting other people coping with epilepsy.

Welcome. You are among friends here. Love the screen name you have.

Hi EHE, welcome to CWE!

I hope you can get control of your seizures soon. I know the grand mal seizures can take a toll. :(

Best,

Hi,

I am glad you found this forum, it helps to know you are not alone.

Have you spoke to your Dr. about meds adjustment?

Are you keeping a diary, listing triggers along with seizures?

Welcome!! :) There are plenty of people to help here !!! Best of luck with everything. How are you with the Keppra???

Hello everyone,

Thanks for the welcome! I was on 750mg of keppra and the vimpat twice a day, but I had a seizure a few weeks ago and my neurologist upped the keppra to 1000mg in the morning.

I find the keppra has made me a little more short andmy patience don't seem to last as long. Bu luckily my fiancee is very understanding and I am able to keep myself in check most of the time.

And yes the grand mals do take a toll. I feel afterwards like I'm a computer restarting. It takes a while for everything to come back to normal.
