Hi all, I am so glad that I found this site!

Some background on me to maybe help understand whats happening to me:
I started last Spring with severe pain in my right side. Had many differing opinions on what was wrong. Kept flopping between a mass on my liver (non-cancerous) and bad gall bladder. Took 5 different medical professionals (and 6 months of agony) to finally find one that agreed to take them both out. Then 3 months later started having all over body aches and pains. Got diagnosed few months later with Fibromyalgia. about 2 months after that started having feelings as though I were going to pass out. I never actually passed out but felt as if I was going to. Doc blamed it on med. intolerance.(amitriptyline) That got better then about 2 months ago, I started having what my neurologist is calling Myoclonic Jerks. He sent me for MRI (came back "normal") and has ordered me a long term EEG. I go for that in 2 weeks.

My symptoms are:
Various body parts (most often my left arm, but can be anywhere) jerk and jump. Varies in duration and severity. Seemed to mostly occur when I would lay down to go to sleep at first. But now is happening at various times throughout the day too. Seems to be more frequent and severe when I am stressed or tired. It's not painful, just annoying. Twice I had spells where my whole body was shaking. That was not painful either, just really annoying. Just a few days ago I had something different where my body was tensing up and cramping in odd positions and it sorta froze like that for a bit. It only lasted a short time(approx 3-5 min, thank goodness) and was rather painful. I was exhausted after that. I have not had one day yet that I have not had one or all of these things happen since they started. Is that normal way seizures present themselves??

I have no clue what to think is happening to me. It's rather scary!

PLEASE, give your opinion on what you think could be happening.

Jenna~

Yes, I do have anxiety. Sometimes I feel very anxious when these occur and others I don't.

Do you think this could be psuedo type activity??

I know with my anxiety my body will involuntarily jerk and I will have some strange feelings, I take Klonopin which is supposed to help with anxiety and seizures but here lately I think I am having seizures instead of anxiety... I would ask my doctor about it if I were you... Good luck and I pray you find answers!

Thanks for replying.

I saw my family doctor first and told him that I was suspicious that it could be related to my anxiety (and depression) he was not convinced so he sent me to see a neurologist that specializes in movement disorders and the specialist isn't sure yet whats happening, hence the testing. I did also mention this to him as well. He said it is possible but saw some things during my exam that makes him feel that further study needs to be done.

Hi Dawn815, welcome to CWE!

One thing that jumped out to me in your description was the gall bladder removal. It suggests that you may be having a problem with magnesium deficiency, both before and after the surgery. If you aren't taking a supplement now, ask your doc about adding one (it's often recommended for patients post-gall bladder surgery).

Since magnesium plays a big role in relaxing all kinds of muscles in the body (including the heart), if you're low/deficient one sign is muscle spasms/jerks/cramps/twitches. Regardless of the whether the cause is neurological or related to the gall bladder issues, you may find that the supplement will provide some relief.
