Hi all, first off, I am one of the lucky ones who medication has worked for, and my heart goes out to those that experience this awful condition regularly.
Whilst my seizures are controlled, I've come to realize how my past experiences (now even 20 years on) are still affecting me. Along with other "normal" epilepsy seizures, I experienced a couple of epileptic Out of Body Experiences before being diagnosed, and as much as I've tried, the fear still gets to me. For those that have also experienced them, have you found anything that has helped you moved past it? The biggest issue I had was when it happened I couldn't get back (into my body) I just kept floating further and further away, it took so much energy and focus to get back, and I'm both subconsciously and consciously in fear of it happening again, fear of not being able to get back. There isn't anyone (other than those of you that have experienced it that can understand what it feels like, and no therapist that can say anything that helps, because they just don't know.
I've read a few posts in here of others that have had them, but just wondering if there is anything specific that anyone has found that has helped when it's happened? And also just if you have had them too?
Sending a virtual hug to all that suffer from epilepsy Xx
