Hi everyone! My name is lucy, im 20 years old, from england, i have had epilepsy since i was about 9, it was left undiagnosed due to lack of family history (im adopted) and awful doctors...if im honest lol! anyway i had one grand mal seizure in may 2009, yet still no diagnosis i found out i was pregnant shortly afterwards, had a great pregnancy all signs of epilepsy stopped, i gave birth completely naturally to a healthy baby girl although she was a month early. After i had been home with my daughter for a while the symptoms started coming back (twitching and eye lid fluttering) and it terrified me as all i could think was that one day i could be holding my daughter twitch and drop her
so as you do i demanded an appointment at my gp surgery and refused to move from their until i had a referral for a neurologist, i already had an idea of what type of epilepsy and he asked me what i thought it was and i told him, myoclonic epilepsy, and he told me i was right, so diagnosed on my first appointment and started medication about 3 days later and everything has been fine since....until now that myself and my partner are thinking of trying for baby number2 next year, only im scared of what the pregnancy will be like, will the baby be ok? will the labour be any different ect! soo many questions haha! btw im on keppra 1000mg a day!! A Big hello to everyone too!!! look forward to speaking with you all xxxx
