Hiya all.
I was diagnosed with Focal Epilepsy with Seconday Generalisation on 16th October. Unfortunatly treatment was witheld until last Thursday and when my GP found out he was fuming(and rightly so).

My fiance is fantastic with it all, he knows how to settle me down and knows when I need to rest (trying to catch up on a month of and a half of lost sleep).

I've been put on Lamotrigine 25mg at the moment with it being increased on 22nd November. They have 2 theories about what's caused it. It's either my heart condition (born with it unfortunatly) or my Brain Damage (that I suffered when I was 10 months old).

I'm currently waiting for my disabled bus pass to come through in the post and my medical exemption certificate to come through in the post too.

Anyway I'm glad I've found this site.

Hey Booboo982, welcome to CWE!

I hope the Lamictal does the trick for you (seizure control with no side effects). Many CWE members are on Lamictal (including me), so if you have any questions about it, ask away.

Best,
Nakamova

Hi and welcome,

Glad to hear your GP was fuming about this.

keep on till you get the help you are needing.

Hello Booboo982 and welcome! We always have a plate of cookies on the counter, so stop by often :)

i've also just been put on lamotrigine after having no luck with tegretol. i really hope it works out for the both of us

I hope Lamotrigine works well for you! Your tale is very familiar to me--I was diagnosed when I was dating the man I am now married to. He has always been really awesome about the seizures, and really helpful. It's wonderful to have supportive spouses, I'm glad to hear he is a good support for you. =) Hoping the new meds serve you well! I can't imagine why they would delay treatment. =/ I need to brush up on my terminology--can you remind me what focal seizures are?

I have absence seizures where I am out of it for 5-10 minutes but apprently my whole brsin lights up when I have a seizure.
