Hi I'm Cassie & I have had epilepsy for 11years now.
After some recent setbacks I would love to meet some other people who are sharing the same experiences & understand the frustrations. To the best of my knowledge nobody else I know personally has epilepsy (however statistically unlikely) so I would love to make friends with some other people in the same boat.
I'd love to give you a short answer as to what type of epilepsy I have but that is a bit tricky at the moment. Traditionally I have had gran mal seizures, but am having some other difficulties now too.
I took a lot of brave pills to join here today, but being purple day and all I figured it was a good a day as any - so woohoo for me

Welcome to CWE and behalf of everyone here thanks for taking those 'brave' pills. You will find this site to be full of information and helpful people who are willing to listen and be there for you.

Thanks! I tend to talk about my epilepsy with only my family & close friends - so everyone else just gets to be surprised.
Think I've read too many negative comments on fb & was thinking I didn't have the energy to deal with that.
I had reasonably controlled epilepsy while taking epilim but absolutely HATE how that med makes me feel. Felt so slow & dopey on for years. So I made the change to lamictal & my brain felt alive again & I loved it. But clearly it was too alive ... cause the seizures came back again & again ... so they added tegretol in as well while I was off with the fairies in acute-neuroward ... Got to say I'm not feeling it

Hi Cassie -- welcome to CWE!

You've found a great resource in CWE -- members "get it" about epilepsy, either by directly experiencing in all it's forms, or by loving someone else who's in the same boat. I hope you feel free to explore all the forums here, and to post, vent, chat, etc.

Best,
Nakamova
