Does anyone have any knowledge as for what year November was actually declared as the epilepsy awareness month in the United States? I have been spending time searching the Internet for answers to my question, but have not come across anything yet.

Someone's reply in another online epilepsy community forum gave me an idea on what to use to perform another online search. And the search results helped me locate the answer to my question in the very first paragraph of an old.epilepsyfoundation.org PDF file, titled 'National Epilepsy Awareness Month'.

Background: The first nationwide epilepsy public education campaign was conducted by the Epilepsy Foundation of America in June and July of 1968. In the following year, November was declared National Epilepsy Awareness Month. Since that date the observance has been recognized in most years by a White House message from the President. In 2003, the U.S. Congress passed a formal resolution declaring November as National Epilepsy Awareness Month.
Here's the link that showed up in the address bar for the very PDF file that I'm referring to… http://old.epilepsyfoundation.org/newsroom/upload/Epilepsy-Month-Fact-Sheet-NEW.pdf
