Off to OU today to see the doc. The doctor is going to start lowering the Tegretol to see how Kaley does. She's been takin' 150/150 Lamictal. 100mg of the generic and 25mg of the name brand. We went with going to Wal-Mart and not staying on base just in case we are stuck out of state. She seems to be doing good with the generic. So we'll see what happens. The generic isn't as bad as what I thought it was going to be unlike the Tegretol.

:dancing2:

Keep us posted -- hop the doc is helpful.

Doc visit went great. She started Kaley on lowering the Tegretol by 100mg a week. I hope this goes as smooth as raising the Lamictal. The doctor said that the reason for raising the Lamictal first was due to this being the safest way. The worst thing that has happened was Kaley being tired. The doctor said the reason for that was taking 400mg of Tegretol and 300mg of Lamictal a day. I'm happy that she has done alot better taking the generic Lamictal then the nightmare of the generic Tegretol. Sure Uncle Sam pays for it, but I like the idea of being able to go to any Wal-Mart to have them filled. Having them filled off base is a lot more convenient that going on base. Sure we don't have to pay the co-pay, but I still like the idea that I don't need to worry about getting stuck when I'm back in OH on leave and something happens.

Its good to have a doc that takes the time to explain stuff :P

I didn't have any good experiences with generic Lamotrigene at all. Or brand name Lamictal for that matter lol. I really hope it works for your daughter, everyone responds differently to different meds :woot:

It's actually my wife ;), she's trying to get off the Tegretol so we can at least try for kids. Just with her having seizures and taking Lamictal is going to make this an uber high risk. The way the doc looks at it is, it's one less med harming the baby.

Oh, i'm sorry! I must have had a brain fart and got you confused with someone else in another thread! :paperbag:

Best of luck to you and your wife :)
