"Canadians don't fear the cold, The Cold fears Canadians!"
Love it! But now I'm hesistant to visit Canada!

Seriously, I have visited Montreal when skiing White Face in Lake Placid. Hit some really great restaurants!

And Nak, I've worn some pretty warm silly get ups going to bed when heat wasn't working and pipes froze. No kidding. Once wore a ski mask. It itched like hell!

I don't know what's going on in my office building lately, but they can't keep the place heated. It's bizaare -- on the really dry cold days it's bearable, but on the less cold but wet days, it's so chilly my wrists and hands get all stiff and I have a hard time typing.

Have you heard of "wristies"? They're fleece-y fingerless gloves that you can wear while typing. I have a pair for the chilliest days.

I've seen them, but I never thought about buying them. I don't problem solve for myself too well

LOL we dont call them writies, we call them "hobo gloves" not sure why. but its basically because you can buy a pair of regular thin gloves and chop the ends of the fingers off. lol

Never mind mocking the Canadians!! :roflmao: We know how to handle cold weather - and we don't live in igloos, either!! Besides, we get "natural" air condfitioning in the summer on the coasts! :D

We'll have to send you down some Hudson's Bay blankets, down-filled vests and sleeping bags and some firewood so that you can keep yourselves warm! :)

hehe...no mocking here! I have lived in Texas for a year now and my friends still tease me about "living in an igloo in ALaska!" :roflmao:

i'm not sure about them. they kinda look like would restrict movemnt

I have no problem typing with the wristies on. They even have heated ones! Though I haven't tried those.

The wristies look like they're casts for people with carpal tunnel syndrome for support when their wrists get tired or are paining from typing or doing other related work involving the wrists.

I had a pair of those before they were known as "wristies". My late great aunt knitted my older DB & me 2 pair of mitts w/o the fingers' & thumbs' ends on them so we could handle the newspapers in the early winter mornings or in the winter afternoons. They cane in mighty handily!

I just made myself a hot chocolate to warm up ye olde handes.

I use pocket warmers when necessary now. They use some lighter fluid and will keep my hand warm & toasty when I put them in my pockets when I use them.

Thanks, Inaara. The St. Bernard dogs are in view now with the tea! :)
