Hi everyone.
I am having simple partial seizures in the right temporal lobe. I don't want to take my meds as I have been diagnosed as having catamenial epilepsy, and the seizures can be predicted almost to the day, just as a period would have. They last between 12 to eighteen hours and usually start during the night. I believe that I have been estrogen dominant and started to use Wellbeings twenty to one at the recommended dose of one eighth of a teaspoon in the morning and one eighth at night on a daily basis. I have been taking this for two months. Although it has not stopped my seizures last month it helped greatly with the severe drop in mood that I experience. But one thing I noticed was that shortly after my second dose of the day my seizures stopped. Now this could have been coincidence.
Today Is my seizure day and they have been quite strong. I have already had my two one eighth doses of my twenty to one, but can anyone tell me how much Is a safe limit to use say, just on seizure day. What I am trying to achieve is trial and error but I don't want to get into an overdose situation. If you know what I mean. Thanx everyone

hi elyblue
Im curious to no how did you get diagnosed with catamanial epilepsy . i beleive my daughters seziures are down to her cycle . its been a long six years to even get to a stage were the doctors are listening . She is on a rescue med for the days she is at risk . this month no rescue med as she hasnt expereinced any symtoms (bloating , back ache the usual suspects ). she also has the depo which she has every 10 weeks . this is going to be repaced with the merina , hopefully soon . at present she takes lamactal and keppra

My daughter used a progesterone cream for a while. She was estrogen dominant, to the point of having purple spider veins on the inside of her thighs at age 14. Once we used the cream, those went away. She does have stretchmarks there still though.

The way I figured out the hormonal connection was by keeping a journal. For us there was also a nutritional connection. However - as I have since learned the nutritional connection, can also cause the hormonal imbalance. So once we began to see a reduction in seizures, the hormonal imbalance has improved.

My daughter remains med free and has not had a seizure in 15+ months.
