Prometheus is an "Alien prequel" directed by Ridley Scott, starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, and Charlize Theron. The film follows a group of doctors, scientists, and militants of the ship Prometheus into space to look for their maker. Not God, but Aliens. First off, this film is gorgeous. Ridley Scott is a true filmmaker who can direct the camera, lighting, sets and visual effects extraordinarily well. The dialogue is also realistic without falling into "people swear, so our characters will swear for no apparent reason". Every aspect of this film is refined, from the acting to the script. Unfortunately, the film will fall flat in its final act. The film is designed into 3 acts; the drama and exposition, the horror and rising action, and the action and "climax". I say "climax" because of how it falls apart in the end. The first act grabs our attention, and pulls us into the world with a strong sense of amazement and isolation. The second act pulls on that isolation to create very gripping and terrifying sequences. The third act becomes an action movie, that shifts away from isolation, and falls into many movie cliches. No spoilers, but the movie should have ended 15 minutes early. Also, their are many scenes that will leave you incredibly confused. Characters will go against their personality, or pure common sense. The film is dazzling to watch with strong acting, beautiful cinematography, and strong dialogue. However, the third act really pulls the film down for me. The film will stay in your mind, for better or worse, and its worth seeing, but you only need to see it once.
