I received an email from Dogtor J earlier today in conjunction with a couple of bad links I had found in his paper about the GARD.

He says that another interesting line of thinking in research of neurodegenerative diseases including epilepsy involves mycoplasma, Lyme and other intracellular bacteria. He suggested that we here check out Dr. Marshall's work at www.bacteriality.com.

He indicated his pleasure that we here at this site continue to investigate reasons for seizures and implement alternative solutions.

He did mention that there is some evidence that this bacterial connection exists for autism as well. He went on to say that he had a dog in his practice whose seizures stopped completely after being treated with doxycyclene.

Thanks Molly. I look forward to checking it out soon. Eventually, all these roads are going to connect in a giant map providing a clear picture (or so I hope anyway!).

Wow

I will refer back to these pages regularly. Thanks

That is a new course I had not heard of for epilepsy. Thanks!

I think in the end, we will find that there are many causes and cures. Just as we all react differently to meds. With mine being ideopathic (no known cause), I would think I am more likely to have one of these new causes. No history of seizures in my family, no known enviromental cause, and no physical brain abnormality/injury would lead one to think that there are a myriad of other possibilities.
