We are still waiting on a final diagnosis of epilepsy for my husband....he recently had the aura that comes before every seizure he has had but the actual seizure did not appear. The aura lasted longer but that was it. Is that what is considered a simple partial seizure??? We are still learning!!

Is he on meds?I notice that my seizures start to happen and then fizzle out with just the aura-not always, but frequently. Are his auras always the same?Mine used to be smell, but lately they have been nose buzzing like a bee is in there and mostly with temperature change.I go from my cold house to hot outside and it starts immediately.I think my trileptal is stopping them-but thats just my opinion.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's seizures.

Here are some descriptions of simple partial seizures:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_partial_seizure

An aura may or may not progress into a stronger simple partial, or a seizure with altered conciousness.

Google is a really good tool during this time. Be careful, though. You can't believe everything you read. In general Wikipedia, Epilepsy.com, and Epilepsyfoundation.org are pretty accurate.
