Slight "Update" on Our Neighbor Situation

We were just finishing up eating our supper when we had a knock on the door. It was a police officer. He was coming to visit us on our "neighbor situation". On sunday our neighbor called the cops on us reporting us for child neglect because three days prior she claims she saw one of our kids outside with only underwear on. Which makes it hard to believe since that day they were in school and then came home for a short period of time to do home work, and then left again til 7pm.

Anyways, that night I contacted the local police station about the neighbors calling on us. If it was considered "false reporting" since it didnt took place. It seems like we can be outside our home minding our own business, and she (the wife) will look over and see us, then call on us. She is stretching her arms and legs to find SOMETHING to call us on!

So tonight an officer came by and said this has to stop. They reviewed all the calls that were called in due to their loud music they have going on, and see a pattern. They have never been given a ticket for disturbing the peace. And everytime they get called on, the wife is thinking of whatever to call them to report us. So basicly they can see them trying to get back at us for calling them in. We do have a security camera that the cop saw. He asked if it had audio on it? Yes it does I said. He said Great! Next time they are outside blaring their music, hit the record button to record it. That there will proof exacly how loud it is. Also, he said a email will be sent out to all the area police that control our area, saying that no more warnings will be issued from now on. If any other calls come in, concerning them, they are to get a ticket.

I just made a huge sigh of relief. These people have been like this since the last part of June! Its getting rediculious! The cop agreed with me, this has to stop. By the police giving them warnings before, it was not working what so ever. They are going to step things up and give them tickets from now on.

One thing I did say, that still concerns me to this day, is that the mother has NO valid drivers license. She has been driving the kids to and from school. I did report this once to the police and there was a responce back saying they would look into it. But I did bring it up tonight again and he raised his eye brows saying, if thats the case, she can get a ticket for doing that.

Anyways, just wanted to give you all an update! I need to head out to meet up with my mom to get a few items!

Well, that's good news, they should have been having tickets all along. Yes, do be careful, sounds like she's nuts and might be looking for payback. Sounds like a neighbor on a show I saw and that neighbor started making threats and damaged their property and lots of other things & had been arrested several times and yet it continued. She was eventually convicted and sent to jail for some time and had to move as part of her probation.

Yeah we will be careful for sure. We told the officer that all we want is to live our life and have them stay out of it. If anything were to arise, we just give the police a call. But were going to get more security tapes so we can have more to keep on hand if something were to come up, so the police could see it and if need be, they need to keep it for evidence.

What a mess. Do the neighbors know about the security cameras? Hopefully they will get their shiz in gear or move out. Sounds like they would do better out in the woods somewhere, away from society. :roflmao:

The mother was pissed about the security cameras when they were put in early July. She couldnt believe we were doing that. But when her child assults our son, and their oldest wont comment on how our van's gas area was broken into, we decided to be safe than sorry.

When it comes down to the security cameras, everytime the wife leaves, she walks out to the side walk area, goes around the drive way area to the drivers side of the car, and stars at the cameras. All while fidgiting with the keys. Like she is thinking should I get in the car and take off, knowing the cameras are going to catch her every move? She has no valid drivers license, which was said to the police. They said they have to catch her driving and have a reason to pull her over in order to check that out. She can lie to them and say she has a valid license, but technically they cant force her to show them the license. Thats all they told me months ago about this. But its funny how she just keeps looking at the cameras everytime she leaves. Then they started parking the car down by the side walk area, not allowing pedistrians to walk on the side walk, thinking if they park further down, the cameras wouldnt get them! LOL But the sad thing that they dont know is that the cameras can pick up pretty much three houses down each side of the street. So its a good chunk of area the cameras pick up.

I dont know why they wont arrest them. I dont think they would have anything to arrest them for at this point. All we were told last night was that the warnings are going to stop, and tickets will be issued to them. They are tired of being sent out to their home, to just argue with them over the loud music, and then minutes later, get a call from them reporting us. Which the police can clearly see is just a "get back even" call they are making.

I just want it all to stop!

We'll be careful. My husband is very protective of me. Sunday night I went to watch a movie with my mom at her house. He stayed up til I got home, because he was afraid the neighbor guy would see me out alone, and get angry at me. So he was up making sure the guy wouldnt do anything to harm me.

In the meantime, we dont say one word to these people.

UPDATE!


Tonight we got a call from the officer who spoke with our neighbors last night. He informed me this neighbor of ours is a very stubborn person! LOL You Think????

Anyways, when he showed up, the husband got all pissed, and thought we called on them. He assured him we did not call. But he wasnt in the mood to speak to the officer. The wife did speak to him though. He said it took him a good 30 minutes to get through to her though. He had to give her examples of things to make her look at things differently. For instance, when she called the cops on us saturday to report us for child neglect because she claims she saw one of our boys run out of the house in their underwear... (which never happened because we were not home that day)... but anyways... he said, would you consider that child neglect if you saw a child run out of the home in its underwear when lets say a visitor showed up that they havnt seen in awhile, and they got excited, so they ran out the door, despite the fact they are only in underwear? She just laughed and said probably not. The officer said "You cant tell parents how to parent their kids". He also gave another example to her, by saying what if you were walking in a grocery store and you see a child throwing a fit. Would you considered that child neglect because the parent is not doing anything about it? Or not handling it the way you think they should be? Of course not. So what she did by calling on us that day, was un-necessary. So uncalled for.

The neighbor responded back with saying...."Well they always are calling the cops on us!".... the officer said, yes, you know why? She just looks at him, and he says the reason everytime they call is because of your husband's loud music. If you have respect for your neighbors, you wouldnt be called on. The music shouldnt have to be that loud. One thing he recommended is unplugging the amplifier from the back of the trunk area, so when he does play his music, its not loud.

And he added to that, that the security system we have, has audio on it. Which means that we can pick up anything that is being said, or music that is being played. If we get anything that is considered loud, or wrong, all we have to do is call the police. When and if the neighbors do turn it down before them getting there, they are not going to go to the neighbors first, they will be coming to our door to listen and see what we got on our security system. He said from now on, a misdameaner will be given to them, which means they will have to appear in court over it. He said he made it very clear to this woman about what will go down from now on. If they truely want us to stop making the calls, they have to stop playing the loud music. Period. The End!

He said she is a very stubborn woman though. Which i said, yes she is. He ended the phone call with me, by saying that hopefully he got through to her, and hopefully the music situation wont happen again. But thats if she got through to her husband. For all I know, he could easily turn up the music and say "screw u" to us and his wife.

Anyways, I was pleased with how the police handled things for us. At least we know they can see where we are coming from, and all we want is to live our lives and not have to deal with the neighbors immature behavior.

Uhhh, she can get a 'ticket' for doing that? Wow how easy. Where I live if you drive without a license you're screwed. They can (and do) use that as a reason for you not to be able to apply for a license for 5 years, or more depending on the circumstances. Fuck if all it was was a ticket I may just hop in the old car within six months of a grand mal. I won't touch my car however, b/c if I got caught my epileptologist, and the law, together can take my license for life for breaking suck a law. Wow a ticket. Too bad, that biatch sounds like she deserves a lot more.

You know it really did suprise me to hear from the police they cant do much about her driving without a license til they can catch her, and even if they catch her, they have to have a reason for pulling her over. Makes it sound like its so easy for anyone to get behind the wheel and not need a license to drive. Its just freaking sad.

Glad the police talked to her about everything. Sheesh, he probably thought of it as talking to a child throwing a temper tantrum and that's what it is in a way. Maybe if she realizes if the music is kept down & police aren't called, they'll realize just how much it bothers you and even if it isn't you calling the police, someone else will.

Yeah the officer tried in so many ways to give her examples of how we see things. He said it took him a good 30 minutes to talk to her before she started to come around. These people are at least 12-15 years older than we are. You would think being older, they would have alittle more respect and parent knowledgement. But I guess some people despite their age, just cant seem to get things.

If its not us calling, the neighbors down the street said they will for sure call if this continues. But my gut tells me they will always think its us calling. I just wish our homes were not as close as they are. This morning the parents got into a fight in their drive way with the kids in the car. Their car wouldnt start, and she needed to pop the hood open, but couldnt get it. The husband comes walking out, cussing up a storm. slamming on the hood of the car, telling the mother to get a f'ing life! All while the two kids are there in front of them waiting to be taken to school. I would never act that way in front of my kids.
