Got anything fun, interesting or unique to share about yourself? Lets hear 'em.

I'm related to James Madison (the 4th president of the US) on my moms side of the family.

My dad and I were on the Phil Donahue Show in February 1994 for a show on Daddy's Girls. Free trip to NYC baby!

I've had braces twice. :p

I can't think of anything to exciting about myself but I have never broken a bone (eg arm, leg).

Hey CQ I think that's pretty cool. Almost everyone I know has broken something. :)

How about this- I have quite a few dust bunnies under the bed.

I have a few scars from where I have hit something or cut something.
When I was about 10 I knocked my knee on something in the yard & ended up with a scar there. When I was 13 I cut my hand while cutting pumpkin, stupid me was holding the pumpkin while I was cutting it & the knife went straight through my palm just under my left thumb. I think the knife just missed the bone but I ended up with a few stitches, I now have a pretty cool scar on my left hand under my thumb.

I thought of another one but not sure if I'm certain with this one but I think out of me & my siblings (I'm the youngest of 6) I was the only one who never had any problems with their teeth as a child. I didn't have my 1st fillings until last year when I was almost 35

Wow CQ I'm jealous of your teeth!

I snore. My hubby is a light sleeper and the only sounds that come from him are the from below the belt, lol. I don't know how he tolerates sleeping with me cuz it's pretty loud. :p

My teeth aren't so good after all. I went to the dentist last year because I was getting a toothache. It was the 1st time in 23 years I had been to a dentist (we used to have checkups when we were in primary school). I got my teeth cleaned & ended up needing 3 fillings. When i saw the dentist he was surprised I hadn't been for 23 years & said to me you wont leave it that long again will you? & I went um nope :pfft:. He wanted me to go keep coming back for regular checkups every 12 months.

Is this the dentist you go to? lol :)

I never had a cavity. The only dental treatment I needed from a dentist growing up was that white enamel filling stuff. It's used to prevent cavities.

It wasn't until this past year when I had three wisdom teeth out. No cavities, they just were digging into my gums & jaw. I had all three out in one visit. Didn't hurt at all.

Lets talk about bones.
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xismtd_herman-munster-dry-bones_shortfilms#.UO5r3dIXiHU

My toe bones connected to my foot bone
My foot bones connected to my heel bone
My heel bones connected to my ankle bone
That's how they connected those dry bones

Do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do

My shin bones connected to my knee bone
My knee bones connected to my thigh bone
My thigh bones connected to my hip bone
That's how they connected those dry bones

Do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do

Back with doctor Frankenstein
is where my story starts.
Everything I have may not be mine
but I'm a gentleman of parts.

My back bones connected to my shoulder bone
My shoulder bones connected to my neck bone
My neck bone is bolted to my head bone
And that's how Herman was born

I was assembled
And thats how a Hermy Baby was born!

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha !

Well in my case, I'm a orthopedic mess. FYI: Not all at once.

1 fractured thumb, finger, foot
1 broken finger, broken arm, broken toe
1 dislocated toe
2 sprained ankles
2 broken ankles

I just remembered another one lol
In 1988 Australia had their Bicentenary Year. That same year Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Phillip visited the town I live in.
There was a concert organised for the Queen & Prince Phillip, 1 class from each primary school in our town was involved in the concert.
I can't remember for sure but think from memory 1 half of the students sung & the other half danced & 2 students took flowers up to the Queen. My class was chosen as 1 of the classes to sing, we had a list of songs we had to sing & we spent weeks going to rehearsals with a singing teacher learning the songs.

I was 11 at the time & didn't want to sing for the Queen or Prince Phillip :pfft:, my Mum told me I had to perform for the Queen & Prince Phillip & it was a real honor. Each student was grouped up with a pair (usually someone from their class), I was paired up with a boy in my class. The Queens visit to our town & our performance was on the local news & I remember as they showed parts of the performance there was a glimpse of me & the boy I was paired with singing :roflmao:.

There is only 1 of the songs which we sang that I can remember & that is Six Ribbons - Jon English.

Nothing too interesting about me. I have a twin sister, but not identical. I celebrated my 31st wedding anniversary yesterday :) I have had no broken bones (yet). I have met Phil Donahue, not on his show but walking on campus. I was however on the Bozo show with my hubby and son about 27 years ago!

Umm.... There's nothing special other than academic and sports records of mine :O
Held proficiency award (award given for the pupil with best academic marks if udk) in my school for almost 6 years.
Clocked 11.02 secs in 100 ms 3 months ago, my personal best so far, I hold the record state-wise, the national record being 10.5 secs
And national 3rd in Science Olympiad, at the age of 11, well it's just a competition with a lotta questions science and IQ based with difficulty according to your age.
And..... finished 3rd in Marrs Spelling bee, a worldwide competition, the finals were held at Dubai.
And here's the best :
Got 43% of total score in my last academic exam. >.> Things have changed a lot after i had my 1st seizure q.q

Great thread!! Happy Anniversary huskymom!
We are all incredibly interesting people. I thought this before and I am convinced now.
Let's see...I know how to take blood from a cow and I love the smell of a barn.
I know how to speak a little Finnish. For instance, I would be all set if I was at a dinnertable in Finland and I had to ask to pass the potatoes and then say thank-you.
I met my husband online.
I am really bad at smoking cigarettes. I guess it's a good thing that I don't smoke!

I'm loving this. Thanks everyone for sharing, and keep it up!

Pfunk- I used to read the personals in our local paper. In bold print I saw ATTN: DADDYS GIRLS, CALL OUR RESEARCHERS COLLECT at whatever the phone number was. It was just us and another dad/daughter that was sellected. That other family was whack! He'd take her to class reunions, work functions, cruises (not totally weird, but everyone there thought they were man and wife, lol) and the mom was there. I felt so bad for her, she was getting dissed by them and was crying. I sat next to her. The only place my dad took me was to rock concerts, lol. :p They were much more dysfunctional and got most of the air time. :roflmao:

I was almost picked for a Walmart commercial last spring. A gal on my mom forum posted a casting call she heard about. They were looking for "real moms". I was one of 48 who tried out. 6 made it including me. They would bring 2 of us into Walgreens and the girl with me that day ended up saving more $ there so she got the spot. It's all good tho, cuz I got to keep my $300 of Walgreens stuff and got the $500 walmart gift card. Everyone got the same compensation. I just didn't have to work for mine.

Let's see..

I am a great fisherman (or would that be fisherwoman) but won't bait the hook or take the fish off. Whoever I go with that will do those things for me doesn't get much fishing time in cuz theyre too busy taking care of me. :woot:

Meeting Phil Donahue??? (and so true P about the 'classy Jerry Springer' haha).
Singing for the Queen???
Holy crap those are pretty big guys.

Let's see. A few similarities. I've never broken a bone either. And I met my boyfriend online too.

Prob. my most significant would be:
-I started my own business when I was a teenager and am still running it 16 years later.
-Years ago I gained (urghhh I hate this story) and then lost 120 pounds, just through changing my diet and walking 7 days a week.

That's pretty amazing! Good for you.

I don't think I've broken any bones either. Knock on wood...

I've been on TV once -- Jeopardy -- many years ago, when my brain was still more-or-less behaving.

Cathy, thank you! Imagine crazy people on a day time talk show. Poor mom.

-I once saw the top of david hasselhoffs head. It was dreamy.
-I’ve been bit by three dogs and I still love them. (There aren’t bad dogs, just bad owners).
-My face caught on fire once.
-I’ve been hit by a car. It was a case of mistaken identity.

I know I have some more interesting stories, I’m just at a loss right now. I’ll see what I can think up.

OMG P I am almost on the floor pissing my pants!!!!!!!!!!!

Are these real or are you just in a goofy mood? Your face caught on fire once? The top of hasselhoffs head?!?! Someone hit you because they thought you were someone else?!

You're f'in hilarious. And if they did happen - BIG HUGS MY FRIEND b/c those are pretty harsh!!!

Okay, I didn't get to meet him, but I was once in the audience of a Phil Donahue Ohio State Fair show. (he started out in Ohio many moons ago) Does that count?

Let's see, when Hurricane Katrina hit the states in 2005, I was in between jobs at the time, so I worked the phones for a company that re-united families. I hunted down this lost man that had been in a nursing home at the time it hit, and re-united him with his family.
But I have broken bones, sorry- from long term Dilantin use.
