Hi!

Does anyone find soy to be a trigger?

I have nocturnal epilepsy and am trying to figure out my triggers. I know everyone is different, but wondering if anyone has trouble with this. I think this and nuts may be culprits. I have noticed something lately has been making my breathing a little troubled, then I get the buzzing feeling when I lie down. When this happens, I have bad nights, go figure.

Also, I have been experimenting with magnesium after seeing people mention it on here. Morning and night doses seem to be helping. Do people find this after continued use?

Hi staugie, hope you are surviving our lovely Boston winter...

My seizures are currently controlled by meds, but in the past I think aspartame/low blood sugar/low magnesium may perhaps have been triggering, so I continue to be careful about my dietary habits and I ake a magnesium supplement (in the form of magnesium taurate). If nothing else, I think the magnesium helps with my sleep, another big trigger.

I haven't noticed any issues with soy, but I think others have. The G.A.R.D. diet lists soy as one of the biggies to avoid -- dee http://www.coping-with-epilepsy.com/index.php?p=glutimate-aspartate-gard
