Question:. well thats obvious I guess..Sorry.

How many symptoms can we have? I mean really I feel like Im complaining all the time and Im sure my 'honey" is tired of it although he says "if you cant tlak to me then who can you talk to". Hes my recent gripes, blurry vision, severe headaces, ice pick pains in side of head by right ear(debalitating), tired, confused, weird smells, grand mal, motor-sensory, petit mal seizures, crappy memory and not remembering alot of my childhood stuff, modd swings(bad).....I mean seriously how much is life and how much is related to E.

Seems like the older I get the worse it gets. Especially my vision since I hit my head on my headboard 6 weeks ago and had to get tetanus shot.

I had such a horrible meltdown at the Medicaid office yesterday and ice pick head pain, my mom had to come in to be with me, then tried rubbing my arm to calm me down and I really got upset cause she was touching me.

Please help, I hope Im not the only one out there like this.

You've hit the nail on the head with this. It can be tough to tell, especially because the meds can cause some of these problems too.

The icepick headaches are common with migraines (about 40% of folks with migraines get them), and less common with epilepsy. But the two disorders overlap, making it tricky. Headaches, confusion, phantom smells, blurry vision -- they can characterize both disorders. Absence seizures (petit mal), tonic-clonics (grand mals), and motor-sensory stuff = epilepsy, and both short- and long-term memory issues can be the result of seizure activity in the temporal lobe areas.

Have you receive treatment for the icepick headaches? They can be tough to tackle but some people find relief by taking Indomethacin on a preventive basis.

Thank you very much for the information. My epilepsy for years was just petit mal, every once in a while motor sensory jerks and a few grand mal but since last November they have increased so much affecting my life:driving, energy, having some type of seizure on a daily basis and without insurance it limits my abilities to get any help.

Having to prove that I need help so that I can get any better and not take chances with my life just walking across the street to the mailbox is frustrating.

Do you know how expensive the medicine is that you mentioned?

Indomethacin is the generic form, which keeps it from being super-expensive. The exact price depends on your insurance and retailer. For instance, the Walgreens Prescription Club lists it as anywhere from $5 to $20 depending on whether it's the 25mg size or 50mg size, and whether it's a 30-day supply or a 90-day supply.
