Hi, my ten year old has started having absence seizures. She has had Tourrette's for about 4 years. We've managed so far without medication. Don't know what to do about the seizures. They seem to come regularly for a week and then disappear for a few months, much like her Tourrette's which also comes and goes. Unfortunately, I don't have much faith in the doctors here. Any advice regarding medication for the seizures?

HI

My son was diagnosed with epilepsy, he is 5 years old and was put on the tegretol cr tablets(in america i believe they are call xr instead) and that is one of tyhe first things they have tried with him, it doesnt work for him but its definately a very individual treatment.

I had the same meds for epilepsy and it controlled them fine until i got off them at 21.

i hope that helps :)
