Trileptal side effects???

Going off Dilantin (bad depression) to Trileptal...working up to 1200mg/day...
I feel extremely tired, dizzy and drunk after I take the Trileptal...fall asleep doing anything, but then can sleep all night also...

Anyone out there been through this? Does the drunk feeling eventually go away as my body gets used to the drug or do I need to try yet another drug...no neurologist so hoping you guys can help me out...

Often side effects do go away once the transitioning stops and you are at a stable level for awhile. I haven't tried Trileptal, but I've found that I get dizziness on Lamictal whenever I've been ramping up or tapering down. No dizziness when the dose is stable.

My daughter started getting a rash down her throat. Since this was her fourth med we decided to stop. Obviously her system did not ever adjust well to the drugs prescribed. Though she remains seizure free after making nutritional changes.
