Hello all.
I was in bed. I was feeling a little funny. woke up on the floor after work, and can't tell if I had a seizure or not. No owies, save from a bump on the head. I think I may have just fainted again. Either way I laid there with my cell phone calling chad, but getting some lady's voicemail *turned out it was my voice on Chad's message box!*
But anyway, back to what I came on to tell y'all.
So my Mama has her neurologist appointment with my neuro *Dr. Fast*. We talked about the possible symptoms or seizures she might be having. Everything from her hand going numb for no reason, smelling something burning, feeling the cat purr, deja vu, not being able to speak properly, or jerking while she sleeps. My mum is only 39, so she is still pretty young, and these shouldn't be strokes, although that isnt ruled out. Her CT scan when she was 20 *my age now, and the age when we both decided it was time to get help* was clear, so they said dont worry about it.
Well in the process of talking I mentioned the electric shock thing. the one that seems to start at your tail bone and zoom up your spine. Well this turns out to be something that my sister used to complain of all the time when she was younger, and still does occasionally now *she is 17* she calls it tingle butt. where she gets a little tingle in her tail bone, that forces her butt to clench and then it moves up her spine and she kinda curls into her self for a second *thoughts on this one*
My sister also gets a really bad pain in her back sometimes when she eats. This doesnt happen often, but it once happened so much in a short period of time that My parents took her to the doctor and they couldnt find anything wrong. They did a CT scan, and an xray, and put a camera down her throat. They found nothing. She says it feels like her stomach clenches and her throat tightens for a short moment *like you get a pill stuck in your throat and it hurts* and she feels it in her back for almost a minute. When its done she is in tears. *thoughts on this too?* from reading on this site, maybe abdominal epilepsy? I dont know anything about this, but she does have alot more of the same symptoms I and My mum have.
My mum's brother who lives in Red Deer, Alberta also get deja vu constantly as well as ringing ears.
I am slowly starting to think that this might be a common thing in my family. The other reason I think that this may have been so long before anyone noticed, is because this was normal to my mum and her brother while they were growing up, she figured it was normal for us too. Especially for a while she was seperated from my dad and didnt have a second opinion.
hmmm. Just have a lot of thinking going on right now. Having trouble sleeping and the melatonin isnt helping any tonight.
Well hoping someone is up to shed some more light on this.
P.S. I have my EEG on wednesday. Fingers crossed for some answers.
