Still waiting to hear from the EEG... And things keep changing every day. They just keep getting more and more strange... I was having the "episodes" every 15 minutes this morning and then my head and hands just kept shaking and would not stop. I thought it might be my dystonia, so I checked my neurostimulators - turned them on and off and changed the settings, but nothing I did changed the head and hand shaking. I took some Valium and laid down and it finally stopped after a while. Later, my mouth started opening and closing and I could not stop it. It seemed to precede an episode and then subside. The head and hands started shaking again in the afternoon, but stopped on their own in a few minutes. Then, this evening, they did the same thing, but just for a few minutes again, after supper. We went to Michael's and on the way home my mouth started up again, then I had an episode, then my head and hands started shaking AGAIN. My muscles are just worn out by now... It stopped in just a few minutes, though - probably less than five. These are not like tremors - it is harder shaking than that. What in the WORLD can be going on?! I have been through a lot neurologically, but this has me stumped. I am assuming that since I have not heard from the EEG, it MUST not be anything serious (the EEG was done yesterday). The shaking sounds like it COULD be a clonic seizure, but I am fully awake for it all - is that at all possible? I am so confused and don't even know what doctor to go to if this EEG comes back normal... Edited to say: I just looked at some videos on Myoclonic seizures and that is more like what I am experiencing and it make sense, as you remain awake with those...
Thanks
Ramona

It will not take longer for them to review the EEG results if they are abnormal or normal. It takes time to review the results. You're probably in a queue of many other people who had EEGs.

That said, it sounds like you're in need of medical help. If your episodes recur I would recommend going to the ER.

I called today to find out what the normal time frame is to get the results, since I am new with this doctor and, as it turns out, my expectations were out of line. It takes a week to a week and a half, so it will be next week before I hear anything. I will just keep hanging on and waiting. ;-)
