I'm new to posting here but I've been reading the forums for about a month. Something happened last night that I'm wondering about and would like some input on.
I was printing off some info(actually from a link on this site)last night about 10:45. All of a sudden, I heard the sound of a street sweeper. For some reason I thought it was my second computer or its printer, so I checked it out. I was able to determine that the sound was not coming from there, but the sound itself did not stop.
About this time, my husband called to say goodnight. I heard him ask if I was ready for bed, then he complained about some work related stuff, then he made a comment about his ranting. I remember chuckling at this. The next thing I remember is hearing the sound of his voice but not being able to understand him at all. All this took place in a couple of minutes. He says that I was laughing, a lot. I don't remember laughing except for the chuckle. Was this a seizure?
Just a little background. I am 60, I've had seizures off and on since I was in my early 20s. I have run the gamut on seizure medications; nothing has helped. I am currently off all meds(have been for a year and a half)and I'm trying the GARDiet that I found info on on this website. Although my seizures have become more pronounced over the last ten years, I go through periods of no seizures and then a spurt of them. Last year, I had several seizures a day, drop seizures, reflex seizures. The doctors(neurologists)have labeled my seizures as pseudoseizures. They have never given me a clear-cut kind of seizure that I have except for that. I have looked at the descriptions of the different kind of seizures, and frankly, I could see myself in almost all of them over the past ten years.
I began to wonder if last night's event may have been a stroke. I googled that, and I don't think so. So, what is your opinion. All thoughts welcomed.
