My step grandmother died today. I'm not going to the funeral but will go to the visitation tomorrow night.

What do I wear for this? I'm usually a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. Would a nice pair of jeans and a dressy top work? Or do I need to buy slacks or a dress?

I would think and hope a visitation would be less formal then a funeral?

HELP !

I'm sorry your step grandmother passed today.

I think you need to feel comfortable and dress according to what you know makes you feel comfortable - a nice pair of jeans and a dressy top will suffice. you will not be judged. The focus is on your late step grandmother. I hope the visitation brings peace to you.
:)

"Nice pair of jeans and a dressy top work". For sure it would work, you are going to honor her and your presence alone is enough, no matter the cloths.

Condolences on the family loss.
