"why do ppl feel sorry themself when there 100% controlled?"

I think it's human nature to always want more than what you have. Lots of people feel sorry for themselves no matter what their station in life, dealing with epilepsy, medications or even financial issues. Lots of folks who seemingly have it all are completely miserable. It has to do with expectations. In general, people who find contentment (expectations don't exceed what's possible) are happy.

I like to believe that one of the primary purposes of this site is to be a safe haven for people with epilepsy to come and share their experiences, questions, and sometimes, vent or even lose it, and feel safe doing so. It shouldn't be about who has epilepsy worse, or is more debilitated by it, or has more right to 'feel sorry for themselves,' because if it is, we have completely defeated the purpose of making this that safe place. I'm definitely not controlled, but I will say that side effects I'm having now (no sleep for up to weeks at a time) can be worse than the seizures themselves, but I also am way more fortunate in the severity of seizures than so, so many--but that isn't really the point in my mind. For me, I hope we can remember that this site (at least I hope) is a support resource for people with epilepsy, no matter how 'badly' they have it or what their issue around it is. Every one of us is going to have a day where we have HAD IT and our strength to deal has run out--and I doubt anyone on here wants to feel judged that their problem will feel unworthy to the next person with a more severe problem. That's my two.
