I have been having partial seizures for many years u have only ever passed out a few times but after I passed out when I was pregnant my midwife was there she said it was a seizure I was having. so I have looked up the net and I'm quite sure I have tempor lobe epilepsy and after speaking to my daughter has to. Our go is going to get my daughter tested but will she get confirmed or will all tests come back clear?!! A few people in my family have epilepsy. The gp thinks my daughter is just anxious a lot and it's panic attacks but we know the difference. I am sure if u are stressed u get more seizures. I just want help for my daughter as she doesn't like them and also if we are going some where she doesn't want to go if she had a seizure at that place beach etc.

Welcome to CWE, sorry to hear about you and your daughters predicament. I would say the best bet is to get yourself and your daughter an EEG and whatever tests maybe needed. I don't have any children, but if i did i would hate for her to go on seizure medications. I pray that u r doctor is right in this case, but if you really want to find out, request tests be done. My 2 cents worth.

Ignore the GP -- this requires a specialist. The EEG tests may or may not come back clear (EEGs aren't always sensitive enough to pick up the abnormal brainwaves associated with TLE seizures), but with your family history and a detailed description of symptoms, a neurologist should be able to make the call about what's on.
In the meantime, you and your daughter both may want to check out this link http://www.coping-with-epilepsy.com/forums/f22/proactive-prescription-epilepsy-1254/ and consider starting symptom diaries to look for patterns and triggers that are contributing to the seizures.
