What I do for strategy is try to set up simple word crosses with consonants so that I just need a vowel to make 2 words at once. For example, I might put C, skip, N in a column and T, skip, P in a row so that the "skip" is shared. Then I could drop an A or an O in there to complete the cross. It can get messy waiting for the right letter to complete crosses, but that's how you get 2x score for each letter. Completing crosses that also use the yellow 2x starting letters yields the big scores.

That's what I'm trying to do I'm just not that good at making and spelling words. I have trouble waiting for that 'right' letter to show up too so I'm just making smaller words when they come up. I know I'll get better as time goes on.
