Has anyone found antidepressants that can work with trileptal? by this I eman no interaction. If not is there some way to balance out the affects?

I took Trileptal several years ago for seizures and I also took Zoloft. I had no interaction between the two. Trileptal is also used for Bi-polar disorder.

that's wierd because the first time I took it I started feeling strange and getting overexcited. The overexcitation just seemed to increase. I am known to be medication sensitive and so is my dad. I have also read that the two medication have a moderate interaction with each other.

Unfortunately that's how most pmeds work. They often times can make you feel worse before you feel any better. Most are known to cause an increase in anxiety and even depression when starting up.

I'm on Zoloft myself and love it. Feel better then I have in years to be honest. No more insomnia, no more depression, and it controls my anxiety fairly well. It's not a miracle drug by any means, but it works well for me.

When it comes to pmeds, much like AED's it can be quite a bit of trial and error. Also sometimes they can lower your threshold. Just depends on how they interact with your body, but they shouldn't affect the AED's at all.
