Does anyone have information linking bradycardia to increased seizures? Or, bradycardia to nocturnal seizing? I've done google searches and can't find very much information. I'm on a mission to figure out how I can manage my seizures med-free, by eliminating triggers and/or things that lower my threshold. This brings me to my heart-rate and I'm curious about how having bradycardia would effect seizure activity.
While in the hospital last week, the Dr's and nurses over-reacted (in my opinion) to my heart rate on the monitor. Because I have mitral valve prolapse, they always monitor my heart. My resting/sleep heart rate is in the mid/upper 30's and my resting/awake heart rate is in the 40's. I've had low heart rate forever and always joked to say I'm going to live until I'm 150.
But, this also makes me wonder if the decrease in oxygen due to the bradycardia would make a person have more seizures at rest. Does anyone have info on this?
