"Highs" my sypmtoms..

On Tegretol Retard and Lamictal. I keep having what I call "highs" and if they get really bad I end up with a small seizure. Symptoms are: extremely unsteady,confussed,slurry,agitated,twitches,blurred vision. If Im talking I get mental block, everything stops in my brain. If bad then seizure.Different opinions: mini fits? side effects from tablets? Another GP didn't know? Any ideas as to whats happening.:huh:Luv Lynn x

Hmmm?....

I would do a search on these drugs and see if I could find similar symptoms occuring.

Searching this forum is simple, just click the drop-down 'Search' item near the top...and then follow the instructions.

This thread talks about AED side-effects...but a search should pull up MANY choices for you! Believe me it's discussed ALOT!

They could be simple partial seizures.

You just described what just happened to me an hour ago. I was going to take a nap but thought I'd check CWE first. This is actually common of what I go through with my seizures

i was having some of that after starting (gen) tegretol... i have found that eating like 6 small meals a day has helped!

I would have thought by now my body would be used to my medication because Ive been on Tegretol Retard for 10 yrs or so, and Lamictal for a few years also. Thats why I thought maybe mini seizures? Not sure thought!onder: Luv Lynn x
