Personally I'd be more scared of chipping a tooth or two unless the balls on the barbell were plastic, in which case I would be scared of choking or cutting my mouth.
 
I have had my lip pierced, well 3 times, I always end up taking it out, not because of my seizures, but cause I just get tired of them lol.
