I really have had enough now I keep having seizures and my test keep coming back normal so I'm getting sent to more tests , but nofink is being done and it's really ruining my life I'm can't even hold my two baby nieces , in case I have one and it's really upsetting me , I'm 21 and I wanna start a family of my own , but it seems like nofink is being done about it , this is really putting me down :(

paitence is one of those key steps, you will get there

First off, tests that come back "normal" don't rule out epilepsy. The EEG is an imperfect test and can often miss abnormal brain activity that is too brief or that originates too deep in the brain. A good neurologist knows this, and should be able to make a diagnosis based only on your actual symptoms. If your neuro doesn't feel comfortable doing this, ask to see a different one, and/or discuss the possibility of trying an anti-seizure med to see if it helps. Many neuros go this route to get "backward" confirmation of the epilepsy diagnosis, and help their patients find relief.

The docs should offer you some sort of treatment even if they don't think the seizures are epileptic in origin. Insist that they work with you to find ways to reduce your symptoms.

Hi nakamova , thank you for the reply , I'm gonna look in to asking to see a new neurologist , as I'm not on no medication and I have been like this for nearly two years now , and it's really putting me down , ur post was very helpful to me and thank you :)

I've had the EEG come back normal, but the video was not. Hang in there. I'm ready for a family, too and looking forward to being able to start my own family. You'll beat it, but it may take time. It may change like mine did at 25, but you'll get it under control again, if that is the case.

Yes, see a different doctor. I had a stroke 3 1/2 years ago and never felt well afterwards. My neurologist kept treating me for TIA's and I just kept feeling worse and worse. He did do an EEG at first but when it didn't show anything he just dismissed my strange symptoms and complete exhaustion. Finally my primary care doctor recommended I see someone else and I really think the new doctor is going to help me. She said it sounds like I have been having partial seizures for the last 3 1/2 years. I now even wonder if I really had a stroke or if it was just the first time I had a seizure. The symptoms that I experience are very similar to the time they said I had a stroke.

Please seek a second opinion from another doctor.

Nat, please do let me know. It's horrible to feel bad and you know there has to be a reason. Find a doctor that will help you figure it out.
