Hi, does anyone have knowledge of which MRI magnet is better? The 3T or 1.5T with contrast.

Our EEG Neuro was adamant that we go to a different hospital to get the "big" magnet-3T. Adament over our weekend hospital stay, that is, until our primary Epileptologist returned on Monday...then it was "whatever your attending physician thinks best"....

Attending physician seems dismisive of having the MRI at all, but says the Big Magnet 3T at another hospital or the 1.5T at his hospital won't make a difference .... so whatever "we" want to do.

I am leaning to the 3T, just because we have never done it (4 each of the 1.5 without contrast over 16 years and all normal).

Any imput will be helpful.

Pam

I would go with the 3-T without Contrast
with Tracer. It's a special type of a MRI
Scan. Talk to your Doctor about this type
of a Scan.
