Well after fighting for nearly 3 years i got a letter today from my new neurologis of the diagnosis of ..... Epilepsy !!! And non-epileptic seizures aswell

This came as a bit of a suprise after the fighting i had to do ...

I feel happy , sad , shocked, confused and angry all at once :( it needs time to sink in a digest it but i thought id share

well jayde,

With diagnosis Epilepsy - u can demand the right treatment for you for just that...

As for diagnosis non-epileptic seizures, what!!can understand you would be pissed at this one....but Epilepsy is the leading diagnosis..so wonder do they have plan to help and guide you?cant just chuck out the diagnosis and leave it at that..and now u know lots (from CWE :-) ) u will be much more informed patient than they used to... ;)

Chaz .... They gave the diagnosis through a letter ...not face to face and they Dont want to see me again till December :/

Those %^$#@! How can they do that?? What about your meds? Not even a referral to a Epilepsy nurse..!?

Would u consider contacting Epilepsy foundation in UK? Have a chat with them and maybe check with them on the feedback they get from this hospital?

Yay for the diagnosis, boo for not them seeing you for another 10 months. WTF? How are you supposed to get treatment and evaluate if it's working?

I guess that is a way to be semi-recognized. Frustrating but at least now you will get the help you need and possibly the right medication that will prove them all wrong when you get the seizures under control!

Thank god, about time they got their act together. Though that is a huge problem that pops up constantly for so many. They aren't giving you info regards to treatment, they should be starting that right away!

Either way im happy for you buddy, we all find relief at some point

Thats great you finally got a diagnosis but really sucks that you have to wait until the end of the year until you see them again. I would've thought they'd want to see you more regularly (eg every few months) to work on treatment & getting your seizures under control.

Ive been on epilim since November but never been checked since ... I feel like that havnt got the time to explain things

Brill news in many ways sweetheart!!, but December that's sure a long way off, id be at my GP shouting at him!!
