Style inspired by the wit of Dorothy Parker (one of my fav's) who was famous for bringing a smile to the face. Mine, about Urban snobery....

The Folly Of The High Hat Should It Rain

A pair
Was spied.

A name, a someone
Have just glided by.

They're quite the couple.
Such a lofty stare!

With lips quite pursed,
And nose in the air.

I do fear though,
Should a rain come down,

That they
Would most certainly wince,
Then drown!

Note: I'll be posting some of her quotes, here. Gauranteed to cause you to think then laugh!

city girl

rich girl
poor girl,
all alone in the city girl.

no one looks
no more books,
all alone in the library girl.

no one left
so bereft
all alone in the family girl.

no voice here
no one near
all alone in your life girl.

I love it! And wan't more to view it. We have moved to The Lounge's sub-forum (creative writing). Please do copy this poem there where you can be reviewed. Laurie
