We had our first daughter before I was on meds. Absolutley NO problems getting pregnant. Nor with the second or with the third, both when I was on Dilantin. Quite the contrary, in fact!

I read that some meds can make some men's semen infertile, has anyone else heard off this? It was the Epilim Chrono, slow release info form.

Better than having the snip, or in less fortunate countries the two brick job.:pop:

One male in my family has had two chldren off of meds. One child has minor seizures and autism that is improving. His other is perfectly healthy so far. I hope it stays that way forever.
There is a publication that discusses the most well known effects of AEDs on men:

Genetics can skip generations in families. Red hair/ blue eyes are not complex but recessive Others can be complex and take lots of different factors to show their faces and are complex but stay in the family. It doesn't mean you shouldn't have chldren.

I desperately wish to be a Father but don't believe my wife can conceive (she has severe PCOS.)

I don't think it'd be an issue.

Mrs. Hickman, PCOS is a hormone disorder that some women have. It often effects fertility. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001408/

As a woman, I had both my children on Trileptal. They were both perfectly healthy, except my son was born with a cleft soft palate. It was a minor surgical repair, and has not effected his speech in any way. We were told by the genetics counselor that the unmedicated person's chance of cleft palate is only a few percentage points lower than that of someone taking Trileptal. Basically, she said it can happen to anyone, medicated or not. But like I said, both are perfectly healthy.

ooo ill make sure to look that up. and thank you! =D sorry about your kid glad hes okay now tho. =)
