Hi Everyone,
I posted a topic in the nursery regarding absence seizures, but I haven't received any responses. Perhaps the reason is because the nursery section of this website is not as busy as the kitchen section. If anyone has experience with this type of seizure, I would be grateful for your feedback. The topic is posted here:

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Starburst --

I checked out your post in The Nursery. The fact that your son is alert and happy seems to suggest that the eyerolls aren't absence seizures. They could be just a tic (fairly common inkids, and they outgrow them). Another possibility is that they are extremely brief absence seizures.

Has he had an EEG? Often the brainwaves associated with absence seizures will show up during the hyperventilation phase.

Thank you, Nakamova. I hope you are right. My son has had several EEGs since he was born. Most of them have been abnormal, but the most recent one was normal. I don't think they have specifically shown absence seizure activity. I read that this type of seizure often starts at around 4 years of age, and my son will soon be 4.
