Before I had my first seizure, I was experiencing memory loss after i took a nap. then the morning after I had a seizure but i don't remember anything from the night before or the morning. I felt sick that morning and grumpy. This was about a month ago. Today I woke up not remembering anything from last night. How do I know if i had a seizure in my sleep?

if its a tonic clonic seizure, you may have a bitten tongue, small red dots around your eyes, very sore muscles as well as possibly wet pants.

There is a seizure called electo-something where its a seizure with no physical manifestations. So this will be hard to tell if there was a seizure. What you should do is set up a video camera every night for a week and then see if there is any seizure movements.

yeah i have no muscle pain no bitten tongue (but i had a bitten tongue with the first one) and no wet pants. okay thank you for the idea :)

Hi abc1234, welcome to CWE!

Were there any other reasons why you might not have any memory of the night before? (Such as head injury or fever, or alcohol). If there are no other factors, then you might want to have your amnesia checked out by your neurologist. Write down everything you can remember prior to the amnesia, as well as how you felt the morning after. Some kinds of seizures are less violent than others, so it's possible you may have had a seizure overnight without having any obvious signs in the morning.

no, no head injuries, fever or alcohol consumption. I am getting an EEG done in a few weeks I just dont want to have a seizure in the middle of the night when nobody is here and have something happen to me. So i was wondering if there was anything i could do to prevent one happening

Sounds like maybe you had a smaller one in your sleep. Im learning some feelings I have had may be small seizures.
