Kids say the cutest things, my son Aiden (nearly 3) is always coming out with cute and funny things that make us laugh so thought it would be fun to share them and to hear the funny things the children in your life say that make you smile.

There are the common "I don't want to's", "why mummy's" and "be quiet because I said so's" (so he is listening to me!), all of which are much funnier when coming from someone else's child. But then there are the original little things he says that make us smile and think "that's my boy". My favourite conversation with Aiden came when we were laying on the floor together. We were both laying on our tummy's looking out the door at the dogs when he turned to me and said "mummy put your head down...close your eyes...Aiden pat your back...cos mummy is sooo tired". After several pats on the back he looked me in the face and asked "All better now?" What a sweetheart! :roflmao:

This is nowhere near the funniest thing Aiden has said but today's funny quote came while playing with baby brother Blake (7 m/o) after being told to stop taking toys off of Blake.
Aiden started to hand all the toys back to him and saying
"there you go darling"
every time he handed him a toy!

I would love to hear the things other kids say, please share your funny stories so we can all enjoy them!

Aww so cute!

I still remember something one of my younger cousins said many, many years ago when he was still in diapers: "The oceans are ripe with oil." At the time, we all looked at him like he was nuts. Given recent events, I now know he was just psychic...

My 5 yo would tell us, "That's not appropriate." among other things.

For those of you that have seen the Austin Powers movie...

After my husband and I watched the movie one night (eons ago, it seems), my hubby kept walking around for the next week saying "do behave" every chance he got.

A short time later, I took my (then) two year old to the pediatrician. While she was checking his private parts he said to her...DO BEHAVE!!!

Too funny:roflmao:, especially since it was not a movie that he saw and I don't think he would understand the context of it being used in the movie.:roflmao:

He would also walk around saying "Do behave, yeah baby Jake-Jake" to his infant brother when Jake was crying.

I've decided to keep a blog so that I have a way of remembering all the cute moments and so anyone who is interested can see what they are up to. If you are interested the address is kelly.dicketts.com

We were watching Sunrise this morning and a Tony Ferguson ad came on (diet drink) where the girl was saying how many kilo’s she had lost in the first week and Aiden turned to me and said “Mummy, that’s amazing!”

Learning to Share

I was helping Aiden get dressed for the day while Blake was following us around in his walker crying. Aiden told him very clearly “No Blake, it’s my turn!”

He then invited Blake in his walker to come into his room and play. They were playing happily together for awhile but then I could hear the sound of Blake’s walker crashing through the toys and Aiden shouting “No Blake you are too little, you are making a mess!” I guess play time is over….
