Ive been at the University Hospital since 8am! They started the gastric emptying study at 8:30am, and its now 12pm! I have one more camera study to do, in about 45 minutes and then I can have some food!:roflmao: From what I know now, my food that the gave me, (like one egg that they scrambled up, two pieces of jelly toast and a very small little glass of water) its slowly going through my stomach and into my intestines. At the two hour mark, half the food i had ate, should have been gone, but when they took more pictures, all the food was still in the stomach, and none had reached my intestines yet. :ponder: I last went in for another camera shot, about 20 minutes ago, and the food and slowly started to go down further into my intestines. I have one more camera shot to do, I do that in about 45 minutes, and then we can get a bite to eat before my husband's appointment at 2:30pm.

I dont see the GI Dr til in February, but they said I could call in a couple of days to get my results instead of having to wait til february when I see the doctor.

So, for now, Im in the waiting room, waiting for the next camera shot, and then its onto lunch! :)

When the food you eat moves that slow out of your stomach do you get hungry less often? Or the same?

I dont really notice a difference in getting hungry, or when I happen to get hungry. I have no idea how long this problem has been going on. But based off of what I ate today, I couldnt have anything after midnight last night, and then this morning at around 8:30am, I had the small amount of scrambled eggs, two pieces of jelly toast and a small amount of water, which held me over for a couple of hours, but by the time 1pm came, I was starving! I usually eat small meals through out the day instead of eating larger meals. So to me, I dont think I eat alot through out the day to notice If Im getting more hungry or less hungry through out the day.

Gosh, I guess I was lucky to have got eggs and toast! I dont think I would have gotten down oatmeal with that radiation stuff in it! I kind of could tell there was something "different" with the eggs. I dont want to say it tasted any different, but it kind of smelled funny. The guy told me I hate to eat it all! I was hungry, but not really in the mood for that!

Ive had migraines before, which helped with taking excedrin, and I have had times where I feel kind of bloated. No pain though. The guy said I could call them back in a couple of days to get the results, since my next appointment with the GI dr isn't til in February.

They took photos through out it all, but the guy said during the "2 hour" photos, that when he looked on the camera, he saw all my food still in the stomach, and nothing was in the intestines. Which wasnt normal, since at that time, 2 hours after eating, half of the food would be out of the stomach and into the intestines by that time. But it wasnt til at the 4 hour mark, that he said my food finally went into the intestines and left the stomach.
