Hi, I am new to this forum and I am hoping to have some feedback on this situation !

For months, I have been dealing with shocking pain in my brain. When the shock began to increase in pain, it began to make me stop what I am doing and my eye began to twitch(it still happens). Now, the shocks are starting to happen all over parts of my brain and not just one area, and I just don't have any idea as to what it could be. Yesterday, after taking ibuprofen( a few and they didnt really even work) to try and stop the shocking pain, my arms began to jerk around alot and it felt like I didn't have any control over my muscles. For a while it stopped(the jerking movements), but when I went to bed, it started back up but only briefly, and only lasted a few seconds.

I had an MRI done and nothing showed up, and while I am thankful nothing like cancer or MS appeared, I am still at a lost and feeling completely hopeless and feeling like a liar. I have too many questions and not enouh answers at this point. My biggest concern is driving. If these shocks are powerful enough to make me stop whatever I am doing, it could certainly be a problem driving wise. I don't want to put other people or myself at risk if I don't know when I am going to have an episode or how bad it will be.

I need to make an appt. neurologist soon. Living with whatever I am dealing with it isn't an option anymore.

Am I having seizures and just don't know it or is it something else ?

So all in all, I have figured out some of the main issues I have been having in list order...

-Twitching
-The shocks originally were on the left , but have now spread to all parts of my brain.
- Headaches after the shocks
- Unpredictable and unknown of how bad the shocks will be
- Happen pretty much everyday
- Can make me stop whatever I am doing

This is all I know about them..

Hi Shorsty --

If you have no other known health issues or medications, then it's indeed possible that your symptoms are seizure-related. Definitely make an appointment to see a neurologist and make sure to bring a detailed description (including onset and frequency) of your symptoms. Most likely he/she will schedule an EEG to help make a diagnosis.

Are you aware of any triggers for your symptoms? A journal can be helpful for identifying stressors that may be contributing to your symptoms. Triggers can be all sorts of things -- fatigue, dehydration, anxiety, food sensitivities (like MSG, gluten, aspartame), hormones, etc.

I hope you get some relief soon.

Best,
Nakamova

I don't take any medication. Haven't taken any for atleast a year.

I have a journal ready and write down when the episode(s) happen and how bad they are be and what time they happen and other details. It's so difficult to figure out triggers because they are just so unpredictable. However, I found this out recently, it seems one trigger is bright lights(LED lights for example). But that's just one trigger.. It's clear that there are others as well.

It's just been so stressful these past months, especially with it increasing in frequency and its now spread to other parts of my brain.

Just out of curiosity, what medication were you on? Some are known for causing jolt-like sensations post-withdrawal.

Metformin and Simivastin(cholesterol medication, 20mg). Not much went on with those two..
