Amazing news!!! Soooo happy!!!!!!!

so my dad's friend richie,kinda like my uncle went to go adopt an australian shephard puppy. the breeder is also a friend of my dad. richie spoke to her and she is donating a puppy to me absolutely free. make-a-wish is going to cover training and veterinary care! i'm so excited. if it's a boy, it will be milo and if it's a girl, millie. the litter opens their eyes next week. i will post pictures as soon as i meet my puppy!!!

Maybe your dog will be like my cat. He knows when I have a seizure (usually doesn't know when one is coming on though). After I have it he makes me lay down and will lay on me and not let me back up until I'm back to normal again. It's amazing what animals can do.

I'm so happy for you, can't wait to see the puppy pictures :bjump:

You will love having that puppy! They take your mind off your own worries, are such a comfort, don't care if you are having a bad day or good day, how you look or what you wear!-they just love you, and want your love, and attention. I got my puppy 2 1/2 years ago when I was sick, but did not know what was wrong. She knew when I would have my spells, and did not want me to get up. Funny-My dog taught me how to sit!!! The great thing is that once I was diagnosed, and realized that she knew, I took her to a trainer to alert me before, so that I could drive, and not worry about hurting anybody. 99% of the time I have known they were coming and pulled over, even before there was a name given to me for them, but the one that started out different than the rest, was the one I did not pull over, and drove for 25 minutes without any memory. Thank God I did not hurt anybody. Winnie is my little helper, and has so much value to me, as she gives me so much more freedom than I would have without her, plus I love her with all my heart. Not being able to drive sucks so bad, and my heart goes out to all of you who are not able to do so, as your independence cut down. Best of luck with your best friend. I hope she or he is everything you dream of.

Woohoo! How exciting! What colours are in the litter? Milo - we have a chocolate drink here called Milo, so I'm imagining a chocolate merle Aussie. They start to become "little people" once their eyes are open - it's such a cute stage.

Oh, gr33nr0se, I am so happy for you! And an aussie is perfect. They have tons of energy, but are smart, can be trained, and are super focused.

I love my service animal. Most of the time he tells me before my seizures. And I agree, when I am driving it gives me an extra safety net. If I was going to have a seiuzre he'll tell me. He also knows when my head hurts and he licks me. It doesn't cure my head but it makes me feel better about it. He reminds me to take my medicine, and on days I don't feel well he gives me a reason to get up, get out of bed, and get active. Brushing him is an evening ritual that relaxes both of us and helps me go to sleep.

i'm exstatic! it's a tri colored aussie. apparently they are all born able to detect seizures. it was supposed to be a surpirise and i wasn't supposed to know until the day i met it, but they couldn't hold in the secret. i will take pictures when i meet my puppy. it's very hard to wait, i want to meet them now!

Hi dear! I love ur attitude towards life! Great! Dont worry about epilepsy u can lead a noramal life if u r willing, be happy and optimistic. Like other medical ailments Epilepsy is one, have medications on time, listen to the doctors advice and live like a King. Tell soon is ur pup male or female! Whatever it is it will give u great fun. I am saving up for a dog now..do all breeds have this ability..I am looking into the French Bulldogs..

I am not sure, but mine is a peekapoo, and she knew and taught me to sit before I taught her to sit!!!, and before I was diagnosed. I was told they tell, because your scent changes, and since all dogs have a much better sense of smell I would think they could. However, some dogs to smell better than others. I was also told a lot of times that a dog that knows you well will pick up on this. It is so cool that I can take Winnie to work with me, and since I have a very small office, and she is small, it is a perfect match. She lays on her pillow under my desk while I work, and even though I wait on the public, most people don't realize she is even there. She is the best little girl.
