He doesn't really talk about living with epilepsy, he just mentions he has it.

Also, good for him that his medication works. Many of us are not that lucky, such as myself; because of this, we have to consider serious life changing situations. He talks about having to accept the fact he has epilepsy and being open about it. Personally, it's not something I would tell just anyone, and we're only talking about E here. I've had epilepsy since I was 12, and 2 years ago I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. I was lucky enough that my epilepsy didn't cause any distress until I had several tonic-clonic seizures last summer.

Anyway, I don't like this video. I don't think he truly understands why epilepsy is a disability and how it can take over your life.

resaebiunne,

I understand what you're saying. I've lived with epilepsy all my life. My seizures were never completely controlled (just reduced) by meds and I went through surgery last year. But, I believe he made some good points. For example, he spoke about acceptance and his journey that helped him to grow as a person. Also, he spoke about his own assumptions of how others would react and came to realize that is not always the case. I believe the more E is talked about, the more educated people will become and there will be less ignorance and prejudice. He spoke abut how productive people with a disability can be in the workplace and that is also very important.
