My daughter had surgery on her left foot last year and has to have the other foot done this summer sometime. She was diagnosed with a seizure disorder in August. She only has them while asleep. Takes Trileptal currently well controlled. What are your experiences with general anesthesia and seizures?

I have had surgeries through out my life and have had no problems with anesthesia. Ive had eye surgery, gall bladder removed, testing for gerd, etc. I had to be put out for all, and I did fine.

That makes me feel better Kristin! Thanks! Just noticed my typo in the thread title, maybe I should go to bed, haha!. Thanks for your reply!! :)

I've had no problem with two surgeries under general anesthesia. They usually ask you not to eat anything prior to a surgery, but they do allow you to take your anti-seizure meds.
