Hi you all,

I've within the past couple months been having trouble getting adequate amounts of sleep. I also have been having trouble falling asleep. Part of this has been anxiety after having a couple seizures in my sleep that have scared my quite a bit. I tend to have partial complex, which involve slight muscle jerks.

I work a regular job that requires me to get up about 6:15 and I don't get home until around 5. With this in mind, I usually only get about 7-8 hours of sleep if I'm lucky. More recently though it's been around 5 hours when I have trouble sleeping. Does anyone have any tips on their anxiety about their seizures, as well as help falling asleep? I've been taking Ativan at the discretion of my neurologist, but it doesn't always help. Any pointers you could give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

~Bryan

You might ask your doc about xanax. I take 1/2 of a tab about half an hour before bed, and it really helps me fall asleep, with little or no side-effects.

You could try taking a magnesium supplement with dinner or before you go to sleep. (Magnesium can help with muscle jerks, cramps, spasms, etc.).
