I love crocheting. =) I'm on the hunt for a beanie pattern that I like. I love wearing beanies, but lately I've been feeling like a need a new one. Something different than the ones I've been wearing for the last few years.

Feel free to share what crochet projects you're working on! I love seeing what everyone is up to.

I'm also working on a blanket for my toddler, Nora. I didn't get around to making her one as a newborn, so I'm trying to catch up. =P I recently lost the hook I was using though--bummer! Need to go get a new one.

:waves:

Yes, I crochet :) I just finished an earflap hat for my daughter. I've made lots of different things. A couple stuffed animals, several hats, lots of wool pants (diaper cover) and scarves!

Are you on Ravelry?

I am, I think my username is kynliod there. I don't really have anything there though. I use facebook a lot. I have a crochet page there called Josie's Crochet Hook. I sometimes do some crochet projects for a little pocket money, mostly infant/children's hats. But I have done some adult hats, and I did Christmas ornaments last year. All my crochet posts are pretty much on my facebook crochet page. I haven't updated it in ages though.

I made a teddy bear once, which was fun. But I made it with homespun, which made it really difficult for some reason. I am working on a rag doll for my daughter, but it's kinda back-burnered lately.

Court, nothing ever comes out right when I try to sew. I think I'm too lazy and get impatient. LOL!

I've never been good about that. =/ I'm like that about drawing too, and there have been many times where I've sacrificed the quality of a picture because I was so eager to get it done and have the results. I'd sit and work at something for 8 hours straight sometimes, and have an overall good result, but deep down I'd know I could have done better if I'd taken my time and given myself time away from the project.

With crochet, I have a hard time stopping as well. I'm prone to RSI because of my lack of discipline. =P

I love to crochet.
I just finished making a cowl that can be worn over the head as well for a friend of mine
and I am making a siamese cat hat for a toddler for a friend of mine.
When you say beanie hat do you mean like a hat that fits close to the skull or something more like a beret?
There are still alot of nice free patterns to be had out there with the lionbrand yarn and bernat yarn webpages.
The biggest project I ever tackled successfully was a queen sized afghan for my bed.
I'm toying with the idea of a tea cozy next! As soon as it gets chilly out comes my hooks.

I know what you mean about going overboard! I'm a starter more than a finisher and I have gotten excited about a project and then once it gets close to be doing done it gets boring. Then I have to force myself.

This is the beanie I wear most of the time, so something similar to this. I think I want a different pattern this time. I was thinking I'd make a purple one, then I could wear it on purple day. But yeah, this kind of beanie.

I haven't browsed bernat yarn for patterns, I think I will! Thanks for the idea.

I'm a terrible finisher! It took me two years to finally finish the baby afghan I made for my sister. Now her baby is 2 and he doesn't even like blankets. LOL! But he is about to have a baby brother, so hopefully they will get some use out of it. XP

I love animal themed baby hats! I made a bunch for my kids over the last couple of years. Such fun projects. I've never seen a siamese cat one though--you must post a pic of it when it's done!

Nice beanie!
I will try to post a picture of the cat hat when I'm done!
The baby afghan story sounds familiar to me...I have done that with a few birth record cross stitch projects!

I crochet... I'm not vary good though :(

takes time

you have to know when to take a break

Yep, definitely takes time. My first pair of socks were two different sizes. And learning when to take a break sucks. Usually I will set myself a number of rows to complete.

This was the first hat that I made for myself

I don't have many of my most current things listed on Ravelry, I guess I could go update it. My username is the same there if anyone wanted to find me :)

I'm looking forward to seeing the cat hat. =) I don't know why, but hats are my favorite thing to make. Maybe because they are fun to wear, and it doesn't take long to be rewarded. =) Baby hats are especially fun. I used to make baby hats shaped like tea cups, although it's been over a hear since the last one I made. I've been thinking I need to come up with some more boyish hats. Most of the hats I've made have been very girlie--mainly because my daughter was a baby at the time. LOL!

I just made my kids what was supposed to be an 'ear flap spiky dinosaur hat" except by the time I was done with the hat and flaps, they didn't want the spikes LOL I paid $5 for that pattern too! :P

I love that green one! The colors are great! I was about to reply to your post with the soakers, but my computer gave me the blue screen of death and I had to reboot. D= But all is well now, haha.

I made a pair of soakers for my daughter, as well as a skirtie. But my favorite crochet pants ended up being a vertical-stripe pair I made with light and dark green acrylic yarn. I love the pumpkin/hat combo! That is too adorable!

thanks!! I love the pumpkin set, I made it for a silent auction fundraiser. I think it only brought in $20. I've never made a skirty, when my daughter was little enough for soakers I was not up to the challenge....and she hated wool!

That green hat was for my SIL, I'm pretty sure she's taken it apart now. She asked me to put the pom-pom back on and one of the ties. But never brought me the hat. :/ It took me several weeks, AND I gave it to her before Christmas because she was "having a rough go". I want to strangle her with it now.

I keep cross posting, oops! XD What a bummer that she hasn't taken good care of the hat. =/ That's always disappointing for the person who made it. I don't know how to fix crochet issues. My grandma made me a stocking cap years and years ago, and I wore it all the time as a memorial to her (she passed away several years ago). Now it has a hole in it and the stitching is coming out. =/ So it's very carefully put away. But if I knew how to fix that kind of problem, I'd totally fix the hat. I'm not sure I could now, though, it's so old. I'd be dreaming if I could find matching yarn to repair it. XP
