My head right now feels like a giant bomb exploded in it! Ive tried excederian, Ibuprohen, warm wash cloths... I just dont know what to do to make this go away!

Thought Id ask here if anyone has any good suggestions on how to make this better? :ponder:

Sometimes after a seizure I can wind up with a migraine and I find going to bed with the room in darkness and no noise helps, I also cover my eyes. It helps but it takes time before it even thinks of easing. Sorry.

As I rest, Im just watching tv with the lights out. It does seem to make things better... but then when I have to get up to use the bathroom, or check on the kids, just by moving a single part of my body, the "explosive" feeling worsens again... damn i hate this!

I am sorry to say, I think you described it perfectly. I hope this starts getting better soon.

Yeah this is just not what I ever wanted to experience. After almost 2 years being only on Keppra XR, I was pretty well sure this was going work! I dont know now... I hope I start to feel better soon too!

Well we will agree to disagree on the keppra but yes even for me after a seizure and I am not on keppra I still get the headache. Defiantly hope things get better soon.

Any Tylenol in the house? I'm usually an ibuprofen person, but for some of my headaches all that will work is Tylenol.

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, dehydration will make things worse. If you have a magnesium supplement handy, try that too. Since the warm washcloths aren't helping, try ones that are slightly cool.

Hope you feel better soon.

Ive tried Tyenol, but it did absolutely nothing for me. Ive been sticking with Ibuprofen for now. Ive always thought for me, the ibuprofen worked better. I did try taking a nice warm bath, but minutes after getting into the bath, I felt an aura coming on... my stomach felt like I had to throw up, my heart started to beat fast again.. and I felt off.. So I had to call for my husband to help me out of the bath and went to lay back down again. I'll have to look into the magnesium. I dont have any on hand, but I will for sure look into getting some if it helps. It seems like since thursday this headache stuff is just sticking around for the longest time!

Aww man I feel for you, just hope you can get some relief. Maybe cooler is better right now. Do you have a fever?

Yeah Im trying a cooler wash cloth right now. I dont have a fever... just the aweful headache, and today Ive had auras come and go... I got up feeling ok... still with a headache.. but then as the day went on, and I got around to doing more stuff... I kept getting the auras... the nausea would kick in, and the fast heart rate... at one point I almost burst into tears because the fear was getting so strong... i thought for sure that time that the seizure would happen. I was lucky enough to be in the livingroom and sat down right away. I try to focus on something in the room where ever im at. at times It can help, but other times, the seizure symptoms return, even stronger... and then it leads to a seizure.

Do you have any "background" type music to listen to? I have a CD that's just the sound of a babbling brook. For some reason it helps to calm me and my brain down.

Ive been listening to some nice music that I like. It makes me relaxed and I enjoy listening to it when I have my "me time". Today was kind of a crazy day with having the kids home, but Im going to for sure relax tonight and Im hoping nothing pops up during the night.

I've got to toddle off to sleep. Hope you can do the same soon, and feel much better in the a.m.

I get killer pain in the back of my head, like I am getting whiplash again. That was the only thing I can compare it too. I find the only thing that really helps is laying down in a quiet dark room, sometimes if it is a little cold that helps as well. I emphasize the no noise thing, some peace and quiet goes a long way for killer headaches and just similar pain.

get your thumb and forefinger and press inbetween thumb and forefinger on other hand and hold it there connected somehow and does relieve pressure if only for a short time so you can sleep,

Sorry to hear this Momof3boys. I haven't had a seizure but i've been doing too much. I've had a headache on the left side of my head and my body has just informed me that I MUST lay down for a while. Shame my neighbour has his band saw going! Have u tried electrolytes for extra hydration and recovery? Sounds like you're doing the best you can. Hope u feel better soon xxx

Thanks Wobblez!

I havnt tried the electrolytes for hydration. Ive been drinking lots of water though... when I have this headache stuff, I dont eat as much, just small items here and there. Im hoping to hear from my neuro tomorrow, so til then, Ive been trying to get as much rest as I can.

Tylenol doesn't work anymore. Our bodies are immune to it.

Advil tends to work good.

Take a couple Advil, and lay down in a dark room for a few hours with a cold cloth or ice bag on your head. If music relaxes you then add that too, on a low setting. But use headphones to block out other sounds. After a few hours rest you should feel better.

I always have to make myself go to a dark room and wait to fall asleep. Migraines and seizures run hand in hand so this is common.

I get those explosive headaches alot(and they do hurt worse when i bend down and stuff) throughout the week(maybe 2 or 3 now). when i communicated them to my doctor he mentioned it might be my meds(trileptol). now i am changing and already feel better!

Good luck!!!
