help please i was first given medication back in 1984 ( i am based in the uk) i suffered with petit mal and grand mal siezures .

The doctors prescribed me a white liquid that came in 2 liter bottles , i had to drink it before food , around 1 cup each time , it was horrid , it looked like a fat type substance it was pale white in colour.....but i cannot for the life of me remember what it was called....can anyone help me to remember the name of the product / medication please.

Could be phenobarbital drink (liguid.) Generic phenobarbital was named Luminal before the rights on the stuff expired. It's one of the 'old' AEDs.

Other 'older' AEDs are carbamazepine, fenytoïne, primidon, valproic acid
