Hey all,

Recently I discovered AMSR.

Don't be shocked if you have no idea what I'm talking about. It is a subculture of YouTube and reddit which has risen in prominence over the last few years.

Read more at http://www.asmr-research.org/

In any case I have watched these trying to find my own personal AMSR trigger. If anyone has experience on this, might I unwelcomely find an epilepsy "trigger?"

This is abstract and cyber cutting edge I know, but anyone got theories? It all has to do with the brain.

Yea I suppose they are in the same ballpark along with meditation, hypnosis, etc.

Do those with Epilepsy ever have issues when inducing 'trance' or trying to alter thinking in such a myriad ways that you've ever heard of?

People with epilepsy often produce excessive slow-waves (Theta) and are more vulnerable to seizures during theta-wave moments (such as the transitions between sleep and waking). Theta brainwaves are the same kind that can characterize some kinds of meditative or trance states. So there can be a risk for folks with lowered seizure thresholds when inducing such brain states.

Thank you! I always was wondering about it... I love hypnosis and meditation and have never tried it when I was sleep deprived or feeling "jittery" and I'll remember not to in the future! Awesome help - any experience with 'altered stares' yourself?
